About me

I’m Jani. I’ve been a yoga teacher for nearly a decade now, and a student for twice as long.

I’ve always been interested in everything human. I studied psychology at university, sketched expression and posture in art school, I love anatomy and biomechanics, and I’m all excited when I find words that describe movement beautifully.

I was never a gymnast, or dancer. I‘m not super-strong or extensively flexible – at least not by nature. Training to impress by performance is not my full-time job (and not my idea of Yoga)

I need to dissect movement to understand it. I need to understand through my body, mind and language.

I understand asana and am happy to help you understand it too!

The idea of opening a yoga school independently and on my own has been brewing for quite a while. Though I’ve practiced intensely across various styles of yoga and studied with several teachers from different lineages and philosophies I never truly felt at home. Something was always missing, not working, or simply misaligned to commit exclusively to one lineage, school or style. At some point, my curiosity and understanding would always have to submit to a fixed framework where scepticism doesn’t belong.

But I still have more questions than answers. I’m still on my path of learning. Let’s walk together.
